Live Audacious is a Christian initiative which aims to change peoples thoughts and beliefs about Christianity, and encourages young Christians to change their schools and communities. Live Audacious is connected to other Christian conferences and groups, including Youth Alive UK, Youth Alive Australia, and Planetshakers.
There are two church campuses in Manchester, and one in Krakow, Poland. In the early part of 2011, the Krakow church became autonomous from Audacious City Church in Manchester and developed into its own church. Audacious Church, previousy known as 'ACC' (Audacious City Church) is in the centre of Manchester and is run by senior pastors Glyn and Sophia Barrett. Audacious Church was first opened in September 2007 and was then called Audacious City Church.
The Audacious conference was hosted in the brand new Audacious church building in August 2011 which can seat around 2400 people. Renovation is still taking place and is scheduled to finish towards the end of 2012. Audacious has got many critics around the Manchester area which label them a 'cult' as they accordingly show many cult characteristics. However, up until now, there have been no incidents reported. Audacious church believe and teach similar to the Prosperity Gospel. They believe that God wants christians to be wealthy and have both heavenly and earthly possessions as long as they do good. This teaching is taught worldwide in many churches such as Planetshakers City Church, Lakewood Church and Hillsong Church and also has critics who don't believe in the Word Faith Pentecostal teaching.
The primary aim of Audacious church is to reach out into Manchester. They run a large youth ministry that go into local schools around Salford and Manchester. They claim to provide help for the children and the parents/families although they also use the schools as a way of recruiting new church members. On a Friday night, Audacious run a program for youth. Audacious youth attracts hundreds of school/college students from all around the city. At this event, the Audacious Youth band play praise and worship songs and a message is taught from one of the Audacious Youth leaders or team.
